A Lifetime of Service

Born in Mexico City and raised in San Antonio, Robert Stovall, is a 7 th Generation Texan. The third son of five children to Lawrence Samuels Stovall and Rita Alvarez De Teresa.


In 1983, Stovall married his high school sweet heart Melanie Flores. Together they have three married children. The oldest child is daughter Jacqueline Eberle who resides in St. Louis, Missouri. Army Captain Robert Stovall II, 33 years old and stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, who is currently serving another deployment to Afghanistan. The youngest son, Zachary Stovall, resides in San Antonio. After 34 years of marriage Robert and Melanie Stovall enjoy their seven grandchildren, four boys and three girls including a set of fraternal twins.


After graduating from Antonian College Preparatory High School in 1981 he attended San Antonio College until transferring to The University of North Texas to study chemistry. In 1983 he worked for Crown Research & Chemical Corporation until 1988 where he transitioned to finance director for Ancira Enterprises.


1989 he launched his entrepreneurial spirit and started The Crown Ribbon Company; an importer of home décor products and textiles from Mexico.


Stovall currently is the Chief Financial Officer of Janal Wholesale Floral Company, the family business as well as the owner of La Flor International in addition to several other business ventures.


In 2012, Stovall began his career in politics running for Bexar County Tax Assessor Collector, winning his primary election, but subsequently coming up short in the general election.


As a past candidate he had insight to candidate’s needs and challenges. Seen as a political rising star, Stovall, was tasked to become the Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Bexar County. Upon his election as Chairman, he began to develop a winning system which brought wins for 92% of the elections within a 14-month period.


He was elected three times as chairman to the Republican Party of Bexar County, September 2013, March 2014, and March 2016. He resigned December 4 , 2017 to clear the way to run for Congress to represent the 21 st Congressional District where he has resided most of his life.


Along with his non-paid position as Chairman he also donates his time to organizations such as Children in Need who help and educates poor children in Mazabuka, Zambia with Sister Celestine, Sisters of Mercy. The Alexander House whose focus is on building strong families through a strong marriage. The South San Education Foundation: Raising scholarship money for South San Students who will attend college. Guadalupe Home (Catholic Charities): Transition living for homeless expecting mothers and the Allied Women’s Center: Saving babies and helping children with unplanned pregnancy.


Robert Stovall is a strong family man, devout Catholic, successful business man and solidly Pro Life.
